Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) starts receiving Android 7.0 Nougat

Samsung’s higher mid-ranger Galaxy A7 (2017) is kind of an odd one. Despite being launched in January of this year, it still came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow for some reason. However, it has now started receiving the much-anticipated Nougat update, according to a report from Thailand via SamMobile.

The update weighs a hefty 1394.40 MB, so make sure you’re connected to stable Wi-Fi and you have enough battery left to download and apply it. The new OS version will add a number of improvements, the most obvious one being the Samsung Experience UI which debuted with the Samsung Galaxy S8 duo. Users will also receive the Dual Messenger function, which will allow two separate accounts to be set up for certain social apps, Samsung Pass, and improved always-on display functionality.

We’re not sure which markets the update is going live in as of yet. However, users around the globe should get it soon and you can always check manually for new updates by going to Settings -> About device.
